Our mission is to help people battling cancer make ends meet.

As Larry Werner battled cancer, he saw how easily people could fall through the cracks and he made a vow to be there for them. During his many trips to the hospital, Larry learned that cancer patients were missing their treatments because they couldn’t afford transportation. They were choosing instead to buy groceries or pay off a few bills. He wanted to help in any way he could, by giving them financial assistance to make their cancer treatment appointments, pay bills, or buy the essentials they need to stay strong in their fight.

Larry’s Legacy is living proof of his commitment.

Managed by The Pittsburgh Foundation, Larry began the fund just days before his passing in June, 2014. It has proven to be a success, with 95% of funds going directly to cancer patients through the Cancer Caring Center, our partners.
